This is a recent on-location portrait session done primarily for images to go into the this young lady’s Quinceañera guest sign-in album. For those of you not in the know, a Quinceañera in Latin American culture, is a coming of age ceremony held on a girl’s fifteenth birthday. The term Quinceaños refers to the birthday of the celebrant, and the term Quinceañera refers to the celebrant herself. Like many other coming-of-age ceremonies, the Quinceaños is associated with the Quinceañera “becoming a lady”. The meaning of the ceremony has changed over the centuries; today, the celebration is becoming more popular in the United States than it is in Latin America. The ceremony has become a need to celebrate, so that Latins can preserve their culture as they become more Americanized.
And yes, I did say sign-in album as opposed to sign-in book…it’s one of my fully custom designed and “you can only get it here at DeRemus Photography” items. The albums include retouching and digital enhancements and the images are modified in a manner so that the print can be written directly on. The images are printed on Kodak Endura professional grade papers and then bound into a heirloom quality album. These albums are also very popular with my wedding clientele.
Here are a few of the images from our session.

As she is also a young athlete, we did a few variations in wardrobe and mood.

We also did some photography of the family as well.

I’ll most likely add images from the ceremony and party in a few weeks.
